Pottery Barn Knock-off!

Hello Everyone!  I've been waiting and waiting to share this with you!  I had to wait until after I shared it over at The Artsy Girl Connection.
Today's tutorial is going to be how to make a Pottery Barn Knockoff Wreath using mostly things you already have.
Here's what you'll need:
  • Charlie Brow-Looking Wreath.  Come on!  We all have em...I had 4!  If you don't have one, you can pick one up at Hobby-to-the-Lobby (Hobby Lobby) for around $2.50.
  • Some random picks...various greens.  If you don't have any of these, again, visit Hobby-to-the-Lobby and pick-up some!  Since all Christmas Decor is 50% off now, each pick will run you about $0.60 or so.  Maybe less.  (If you don't have a Hobby Lobby-try Big Lots, Michael's, or the Dollar Store...they all have them and they're super cheap!)
  • Glitter...LOTS of different kinds of glitter!  You can get this anywhere!!!  Any color you'd prefer.
  • Elmer's spray adhesive.  Available at any craft store!  I had this on hand.
  • Wire cutters of some sort
  • Any extra sparkly things you can find, or ornaments will work too.
  • And the cutest helper you can find...here's a look at mine..
What you'll need to do next is the fun part...stick the picks where ever you'd like.  I don't secure them with anything other than the "Charlie Brown" branches.  This way, I can do it over as many times as I want!  I use the wire cutters to cut "borrow" branches from the longer greenery and place where I need a different texture.  I simply wrap them around the original branches of the wreath.  As far as embellishments go...you can use whatever you'd like.  I had some brass leaves, so I primed them and glitterized them.  I also stuck some random music note ornaments on two of my wreaths, and some old bird house ornaments on another.  Then, I add my ribbon of choice.  On two I used red sparkly ribbon, on the third wreath, I used burlap ribbon.  I also did this same procedure on my mantle wreath and garlands CLICK HERE to see those.  The only thing I did differently was I did not use ribbon on those, rather I just used more ornaments and picks. When I'm done, I spray the entire thing with the Spray Adhsive and sprinkle fairy dust, glitter, and faux snow to complete the look.  I didn't use lights on any of these, but if you're working on duplicating Pottery Barn's $239.00 wreath, here's a little website that I use A LOT!
Save On Crafts.  This website has everything crafty under the sun, including  battery operated fairy LED lights for only $6.99.  I've mentioned how much I love shopping there!  Awesome deals.  It's also where I get a lot of my Jute, ribbon, and Twine!  When you're done...here's what you'll have...

And, yes, I will soon do a tutorial on this awesome skeleton find.

And here are the other two...
Here's where my inspiration came from...

Yes...if I PAID $239.00 for a wreath, I'm pretty sure Mr. A2Being would flip out!!!  I hope I've inspired you to create something beautiful on a shoe-string budget!  Have a great weekend!!!  OH YEAH...good news.  Big Bertha will be revealed next week because guess who received their Vintage Skye order?

  1. Your Pottery Barn knock off wreath turned out great! Thanks for sharing the website Save on Crafts. We don't have much for crafts in the little town I live in, so it will be great to know where to go online to find what you need.
    Wishing you a Merry Christmas.
